  • Share Food Program

    WEEKLY Partner Food Distributions and FREE Monthly Food Boxes for Seniors

    Share Food Program is the leading hunger relief organization in the Greater Philadelphia region, working to eradicate food insecurity through food distribution, education and advocacy. Through quality partnerships with nearly 800 schools and around 400 community-based organizations across the region, Share Food Program serves hundreds of thousands of family members and neighbors in need throughout Philadelphia and its surrounding counties every month. 

    The Share Food Program offers a few recurring resources:

    Weekly partner Food Distributions around Philadelphia - the locations are posted mid-month, every month on the Share Food Program Instagram page.

    An interactive food map to find a free food site near you. You can filter based on zip code, days of the week and the mile radius.

    Senior Food Box Program (SFBP) that provides one free box of food per month (for delivery or pick-up) to qualifying seniors.

    Share Food Program also posts partner food distributions on Facebook, Twitter/X, and on its blog for people who don't have Instagram.

    NOMO (New Options More Opportunities) is a Philadelphia-based organization committed to impacting the lives of youth and young adults to “…nurture their potential to break the cycle of poverty, imprisonment and homelessness with a goal to end generational curse” (Source: NOMO, 2024). NOMO offers a variety of programming including: tutoring, workforce development, financial literacy, mental health support and many other services.

  • The Food Pharmacy @ Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP)

    Free WEEKLY Produce Markets | 9:30AM Until Supplies Run Out

    The Food Pharmacy is an initiative at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) that “…aim to increase access to healthy foods and promote nutrition for families experiencing food insecurity” (Source: CHOP, 2024). It offers resources such as: resource navigation, grocery delivery, free markets, etc. It partners with community organizations, grocers and other entities to provide these resources.

    The Food Pharmacy has FREE Produce Markets at Cobbs Creek Primary Care Center and Karabots Primary Care Center from 9:30AM until supplies run out. Please find the dates below.

    Cobbs Creek Primary Care Center, 63rd & Locust | Every Wednesday | 9:30AM until supplies run out:

    October: 16th, 23rd, 30th

    November: 6th, 13th, 20th

    December: 4th, 11th, 18th

    Karabots Primary Care Center, 48th Between Market & Haverford | Every Thursday | 9:30AM until supplies run out:

    October: 17th, 24th, 31st

    November: 7th, 14th, 21st

    December: 5th, 12th, 19th

    It is advised that you bring your own bag, and markets may be cancelled in the case of rain.

    The Food Pharmacy is consistently seeking volunteers for its Produce Markets. Sign up to volunteer for the Karabots Primary Care Center market or email: foodpharmacy@chop.edu to volunteer for the Cobbs Creek Primary Care Center Market.
